Pavement Line Painting Planned for This Week

May 22, 2019

The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that their contractor, PK Contracting, will repaint the lines on downtown Nine Mile Rd. and in the City's downtown parking bays. The work—part of a larger effort by the City's Public Works team to repair and refresh downtown streets, sidewalks, and alleyways—is scheduled to take place Thursday through Friday of this week.

DPW doesn't expect any road or parking bay closures for either operation. Parking bays will be done in the early morning, and crews will watch temperatures and humidity to adjust the amount of paint applied to ensure a rapid drying process.

In the past two weeks, DPW has also begun patching and making repairs on Woodward Ave., patching downtown Nine Mile Rd., and cleaning/sweeping sidewalks. Whenever possible, work is being performed during early morning hours to minimize the impact to businesses and visitors.
