Update: Monday, April 8, 9:00 a.m.

DPW reports that water service must be stopped again to complete the repair. Water will be turned off between approx. 9:00-11:00 a.m. We apologize for the disruption, and are working as quickly as possible to repair the issue and restore service.

Update: Sunday, April 7, 6:00 p.m.

Water service has been restored to W. Troy businesses for the time being, however the water will remain reduced-flow until the repairs have been completed.

Department of Public Works (DPW) crews report a total of three separate but affiliated main breaks, two of which have been repaired; the third is being attended to now. Repairs will likely continue into early/mid-day Monday. They hope to retain reduced-flow water service throughout the repair process so that businesses can operate as usual Monday; however if additional issues arise, water service may again be impacted.

Original Post

A water main repair has occurred along W. Troy Street adjacent to the Dot construction site over the night. DPW crews and officials from the City's Construction Manager, Colasanti, are preparing the site for repairs. In order to address the break, crews must shut off the water supply. This may impact businesses located along W. Troy Street.

Is a boil water advisory in place?

No, a boil-water advisory is not necessary. The main remains pressurized.

Why is the water brown?

When water pressure fluctuates (as happens during a water main break), sediments often get stirred up and can make water appear cloudy or dingy. It's nothing to be concerned about; simply run your water for 5-10 minutes until the flow is clear.

When will water service be restored?

Crews will make repairs as expediently as possible. We will provide progress updates.
