City Prepares for Passport Parking

April 23, 2018

Downtown employees may no longer have to make the monthly trek to City Hall to renew parking permits. The City is working with Passport Parking (Wilmington, DE) to launch a new digital platform for downtown employees and business owners to obtain and renew parking permits online. The new digital permit system is managed by license plate authentication and will require no physical permit. The new process will require downtown employees to create an account online with a username and password.

Assistant City Manager, Joseph Gacioch commented "We really wanted to modernize our approach to customer service and make access to our permits more accessible and convenient to our downtown employees. Secondly, we also understand that going digital also means going green by reducing our paper and printing impacts."

The online permitting portal is expected to be rolled out to the public in May, 2018.  City customer service is able to assist downtown employees with the permit renewal process if they are unable to independently initiate the process online. Call 248-546-2525 ext. 117
