There will be a public meeting for Ferndale residents and members of the business community to learn more about a proposed new parking facility project.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ferndale Public Library. All are welcome to attend.
The intent of the meeting is to provide updates and receive comments and questions from the Ferndale community. Representatives from the Downtown Parking Committee (which provided the site recommendation this fall), the City of Ferndale, the Downtown Development Authority, and developer Fusco Shaffer & Pappas Inc. (FSP)/Bridgeport Consulting will be in attendance to provide information, answer questions, and solicit feedback.
Dan Mooney of FSP emphasized that the concept is in the “really high-level conceptual phase.” He added that the project could change as discussion progresses with the City and the community.
The Downtown Parking Committee's site selection recommendation of Lot 6, located at the intersection of W. Troy St. and Allen St., was unanimously approved by City Council on Oct. 24. The project has now moved into the public engagement phase, marked by the public meeting and a series of focus groups. To learn more about the project, view the City Council presentation or the Downtown Parking Committee's official recommendation.
